Nanny care includes many types of people such as nannies, babysitters, special needs caregivers, baby nurses and so on. Special needs caregivers are the the persons who take care of the person who need assistance in everything they do. A family cannot always be present physically to take care of such persons. There may situations where they must be left alone when the family goes for some work. Sometimes family members may not understand the position of special needs of the person when he is under a diagnosis condition. They do not know how to approach them. In order to remove these problems, invaluable services of a special needs caregiver can be employed.

Based on the behavioral or medical condition, special needs caregivers have to be trained for taking care of kids and adults who need specific assistance. People of all races, lifestyles, and income levels are effected by the role of caregivers. A study was done in 2004 by the National Alliance for Caregiving and the American Association for Retired Persons. According to it, it is estimated that more than 44 million people are involved in providing care to a spouse, friend or relative.

Caregivers provide love and commitment to strengthen the relationships. The duties of a caregiver includes supervising others who provide care, and offering care giver assistance. They may involve in cooking, shopping, and cleaning. The daily needs of the special needs person such as bathing, toileting, dressing, feeding, and transportation are to be taken care by the caregivers.

Based on the hierarchy of requirement and different caregiver positions, the salary of the caregivers vary. Persons with certification receive an average salary of $31,000 per year. The care and positive influence given by the caregivers may even change the lives of the special needs people.
