Qualities a Good Nanny Should Have

Many types of nannies are available but it is the duty of parents to select a nanny who in involved in keeping their child healthy and happy. The nannies should be in a position to make the parents sure that she would qualify in their feeling. Nanny care is not a small, easy job. Being a nanny is a rewarding career. However, this is a role that needs a lot of hard work. A nanny should have certain qualities to take care of children.

Nurturing and Loving:
This is the main quality for being a good nanny. The nanny should posses the quality of showing unconditional love for children. She should watch-out for the well-being of the child. This helps in improving the self-esteem and proper emotional development of a child.

Good Manners and Morals:
Children always have the habit of learning anything from others and copying them. A nanny should make the children understand and follow good manners. This can be done through explaining the children through examples and stories. So if a nanny has a proper manners and good morale, the children do grow with the same characteristics.

Patience:
Lot of patience should be there for a nanny to take care of children. If a person is short-tempered, she cannot fit in the position of a good nanny. The nanny should be so patient while dealing with a child and answer all his questions and try to keep them comfortable.

Punctual:
A nanny should be punctual and reliable. She should inform the parents if she is not able to take care of the children on a particular day. She should arrive at home at the agreed time.

Communicative:
Sometimes certain situations may arise which may lead to some problems. These should be communicated professionally to the parents. If the communication is not done, or if it is not proper the problem cannot be solved.

Safe, Hygienic and Careful:
A good nanny should be so careful in certain safety issues. She should be in a position to take the right judgment at some situations that may prevent any accidents. She should make the children's room clean, clothes clean and folded, and keep kids cleaned and groomed.

Apart from these, there are many qualities that a nanny should inculcate to do justice to her role. Some of them are trustworthy, educated and knowledgeable, multitasking, flexibility, and good listening.
