Impact of Drug Misuse

Drug misuse may be dangerous for three main reasons. They are people can easily become addicted to the drug, the drug can cause physical and psychological harm, and drug abuse can have a negative impact on quality of life.

Two things are likely to determine the intensity of addictiveness of a drug. They are how enjoyable or delightful taking the drug is, and how rapidly the drug reaches or enters brain. Drugs that are smoked, injected or snorted (breathed through nose) can reach the brain very quickly and are generally more addictive than drugs that are swallowed. Depending on the effects, the order of addictiveness with the most addictive to least were Heroin, Cocaine, Tranquillisers, Amphetamines, Ketamine, Cannabis, Hallucinogens and Ecstasy.

People with heavy drug addiction, such as a heroin, cocaine, or crack addiction, often used to desperate, illegal, and dangerous activities to get money to pay purchase drugs. These activities include begging, burglary, shop-lifting, street crime, such as mugging (stealing) or bag snatching, and prostitution. This reduces quality of life.

Drug misuse has serious impact on health, can have a negative effect on quality of life and relationships with others. Many drug abusers recognize that they lose touch with their family and friends or that their family and friends lose interest in them due to their nonsensical behavior. Hobbies, interests, and ambitions are ignored as drugs become more essential. It will become more difficult to continue in job if a person suffers from drug problem.

A DNSBL (DNS-based Blackhole List, Block List, or Blacklist) is a list of IP addresses published through the Internet Domain Name Service in a particular format. DNSBLs are most often used to publish the addresses of computers or networks linked to spamming; most mail server software can be configured to flag or reject messages which have been sent from a site listed on one or more such lists.

DNS-based Blacklists or DNSBLs are for investigative filtering and blocking. A site publishes a list of IP Addresses via the DNS so that the mail servers know for sure whether they have to accept a message or reject it.

There are literally scores of DNSBLs, each of which reflects different policies: some list sites known to give out spam; others list open mail relays or proxies; others list ISPs known to support spam.

An SMTP server configured in such a way that it allows anyone on the Internet to send e-mail through it, not just mail destined to or originating from known users, is known as an open mail relay. This used to be the default configuration in many mail servers; indeed, it was originally the way the Internet was set up, but open mail relays have become unpopular due to their exploitation by spammers and worms. Thus, many relays were closed, or were placed on blacklist by other servers.

Nuclear Weapon - Powerful Threat to World

Nuclear war fare and nuclear weapons are the biggest threat to life on Earth. I must say that if a nuclear warfare starts, it will impact almost three-fourths of the life on the entire earth. Already some countries have pointed their nuclear missiles on their targets that range from military areas to large populated civilian areas of their rival countries. Advanced technology has aided them to detonate nuclear-wars within minutes of the decision. The largest among those are US obviously, Russia, UK and China. Other countries with fewer possibilities of firing nuclear weapons are India, France, North Korea and Pakistan. Even Israel is said to possess nuclear weapons but it is refusing to acknowledge it.

There are basically 3 types of nuclear weapons. The first one is the fission bomb which explodes through nuclear fission. These are also referred to as Atom bombs. The second type is called thermonuclear bomb which explode through nuclear fusion. These are also referred as Hydrogen bomb. The other type of nuclear bomb is boosted fission weapon with both fission and fusion reactions. We must be happy that there are only bombs and not guns which are easy to carry.
