Mulch Mats For Tidy And Weeds Free Garden

Every gardener loves beautiful plants but at the same time hates a weed attack on his plants. Weeds like grasses growing across paths and into beds ruin the garden path flowerbed, or vegetable garden. They consume all nutrients and water, and compete against the desirable plants.

Mulch mats can solve this problem. They act as physical barriers that are placed on the prepared soil to grow plants. This type of mat has many different categories. It ranges from light-duty for small, new gardens, to heavy-duty for large, problem, or commercial gardens. It is developed from recycled material i.e. rubber and non-woven manmade cloth. These are biodegradable mats and they generally come in circle shapes for placing around tree trunks, and long, narrow strips for the edges of beds.

Water, air and micronutrients easily go down through the mulch mat stopping the weeds. Preparation and placement of the mats are essential for better plant growth. For new plant, soil should be properly tilled, smoothed, leveled, fertilized, and watered and then mulch mat should be placed over the growing area.

When heavy weight mulch is being used for gardening, avoid the use of any element over the mat but if a gardener is using light mulch mat then it is advisable to use some non-woven poly material over it.

Mulch mat are easy to use and helps to yield a lot. This helps to enjoy a lot in garden instead of weeding, and pulling grass in garden all time.
