Struggling with Dry skin? Try Essential Oil Therapy

Dry skin is one of the common skin types, which most of the people have. When the skin has a tendency of having very little moisture and lacks in normal lubrication, it results in dry, lifeless and vulnerable skin, which also lacks in good tone and elasticity. Especially, in winters and cold climates, this kind of skin type is disgusting and makes us feel very uncomfortable. Many moisturizers and lotions are available, but they all are temporary and the problem starts once they are washed away from the skin. Moreover, dry skin types are more prone to aging, dry skin diseases like eczema, psoriasis and other skin ailments. So, special care should be taken in order to avoid such disorders.

Aromatherapy essential oils are the best solution for treating dry skin or any dry skin related disorders. The essential oils used for this treatment balance the production of the oil and also act as anti-inflammatory agents which prevent irritation. These oils also acts as anti aging agents and make the skin look glowing and healthy.

To get the anti-aging qualities of the oil use oils like lavender, geranium, neroli, rosemary, and rose. These oils also help in rejuvenating the skin by promoting the cell growth. Chamomile, carrot seed, and helichrysum reduce inflammation hence are suitable for dry skin conditions. Other oils which are good to use on dry skin are frankincense, myrrh, Jasmine and sandalwood.

The best way to use Aromatherapy oils is to blend them with the cream or lotion, which we regularly use for skin moisturizing and cleansing. Purchase an unscented cream from a herbal store and try to blend any of these oils in to that cream. The ideal ratio for mixing is, for every 100ml of lotion, use only two drops of essential oil. These oils will take a couple of days to give complete results, but once they start working they leave long lasting results.
